Final Blogpost For CT 101…It Flew By So Fast!

This semester really did go by very quickly, especially with all the work we have done over the past weeks. I have learned how to make funny GIFs, how to animate, merge pictures, and more importantly, I have learned how to create my own website.

When I first came into this class, I knew that I was finally going to have a platform in which I can express myself, without talking. Through writing these blogs on my personal website, as well as the CT 101 website, I understand more about myself, such as my sense of humor, and where I stand in reaching for my career goals. I do know, that I have to improve my editing skills, as well as my artwork, but I am not giving up.

My first blog is my first GIF, on the CT 101, that I made from a video I saw on YouTube. The boy in this GIF is Jeon Jungkook, and he is a member of a K-Pop group called BTS. When I made this GIF I had difficulty with adding it to the blog post. After making a few other GIFs, I got used to the process. My other posts that include GIFs, can be found in my CT101 category, in my website.

However, the posts in the My Artworks category, are mainly dedicated to my past, present, and future artworks that I have, and will create. I would like to further use this platform to make an online portfolio through my website, so I can keep track of what I have so far, instead of trying to find them around my house. Also, I have mentioned that some works are in a portfolio at my high school, so I wouldn’t be getting those back, so I will have them here. I am very grateful for this class, because I now have somewhere to place all my work!

Previous CT101 Post #5: Photoshop Animation

For this assignment, I chose to include a picture of a tiger, because it was the first image that popped in my head.

I have used Photoshop in the past, but never for animation, so this was very new to me. I had tried some dupes for Photoshop for the past week, however I could not seem to find one that I understand.

Previous CT101 Post #4: Flexibility in Storytelling

For this assignment, I chose Animals doing funny things, because it seemed like something I would enjoy. When I was looking for a video to make a GIF, I found this part funny. It’s not everyday you get to see a cat with this expression.

For my second assignment, I chose the Favorite movie quote. I had to choose an image from a movie I like, and add the quote over the image. This image and quote is from the Disney movie, Wizards of Waverly Place. I used to love watching the show when it was still ongoing, and I still watch it on YouTube sometimes.

Oh we’re going, okay!

I chose this part of the movie, because it displays my expression when I’m not ready to step out of my comfort zone to do a certain task. Unfortunately, I need to learn more about putting captions over an image, so I placed the caption below the image on this one.

Previous CT101 Post #3: Reaction GIF

On the first day of class, I kept walking around on the fourth floor trying to find it.

The first day was very chill in my opinion, though I was very nervous. The first task was to create a GIf, and I was proud of myself that I was able to make one.

After creating a GIF or two, I really enjoyed looking back, and laughing at how funny they are, especially with a loop.

By the end of this semester, I would like to learn how to express myself, even if I don’t talk much. This class is a great way for me to relax and do work at the same time.

I would also like to learn animation, which I think is pretty cool.

Net Art for CT101…aka My Attempt

This assignment for CT101 was difficult to understand at first. Thanks to professor Ryan’s help, I finally figured out how to animate images in Photoshop. Also, I had to experiment with the timeline in order make the animation work the way I wanted it to. At first, I was going to create a static animation with the background, just like professor’s animation. Instead, I ended up with an animation where the chicken is moving across the checkerboard. For the checkerboard,  I took out some squares that were there before, and replaced them with a different color, however it was not my intention to have the stripes on the other squares. I accidentally clicked on a beige square, and it ended up adding a stripe. It looked pretty cool, so I kept it, and clicked on some other beige squares. My mistake was saving it as an image, instead of an animation, so this is what I ended up with. I tried going back into the file to change it, but it loaded as an image, and not my original animation. I will continue to experiment with animating in Photoshop, and learn how to save, and upload it correctly.

Can Copyrighting Be A Remix?

Copying someone else’s work does not deserve praise, especially when that person worked very hard to create it, and then they don’t get credit. Have you ever heard the phrase, “two minds think alike”? Besides the idea that more than one person can come up with the same idea, work that has already been created, can be used again, but with a twist on it, which is a remix. Be sure to give credit to the original owner of the work you’re using! While watching the video, Everything is a Remix: The Force Awakens , I learned that companies copy each other too, whether it’s a trend that’s going around at the moment, or just to lure people to buy their products more. Below is a GIF from one of DashieGames’s videos on YouTube, which is his jump scare compilation.
