Final Blogpost For CT 101…It Flew By So Fast!

This semester really did go by very quickly, especially with all the work we have done over the past weeks. I have learned how to make funny GIFs, how to animate, merge pictures, and more importantly, I have learned how to create my own website.

When I first came into this class, I knew that I was finally going to have a platform in which I can express myself, without talking. Through writing these blogs on my personal website, as well as the CT 101 website, I understand more about myself, such as my sense of humor, and where I stand in reaching for my career goals. I do know, that I have to improve my editing skills, as well as my artwork, but I am not giving up.

My first blog is my first GIF, on the CT 101, that I made from a video I saw on YouTube. The boy in this GIF is Jeon Jungkook, and he is a member of a K-Pop group called BTS. When I made this GIF I had difficulty with adding it to the blog post. After making a few other GIFs, I got used to the process. My other posts that include GIFs, can be found in my CT101 category, in my website.

However, the posts in the My Artworks category, are mainly dedicated to my past, present, and future artworks that I have, and will create. I would like to further use this platform to make an online portfolio through my website, so I can keep track of what I have so far, instead of trying to find them around my house. Also, I have mentioned that some works are in a portfolio at my high school, so I wouldn’t be getting those back, so I will have them here. I am very grateful for this class, because I now have somewhere to place all my work!

Birds in the Tree

In order to draw these two birds, I observed pictures of their outlines, and feathers. I then sketched the general shapes with a pencil, and added random tree branches, as well as some leaves. To color them in, I used these Crayola markers, because the colors can easily be blended into each other.

This is the final product, and I really like that the feathers look very colorful!Image result for crayola markers

Previous CT101 Post #5: Photoshop Animation

For this assignment, I chose to include a picture of a tiger, because it was the first image that popped in my head.

I have used Photoshop in the past, but never for animation, so this was very new to me. I had tried some dupes for Photoshop for the past week, however I could not seem to find one that I understand.

Previous CT101 Post #4: Flexibility in Storytelling

For this assignment, I chose Animals doing funny things, because it seemed like something I would enjoy. When I was looking for a video to make a GIF, I found this part funny. It’s not everyday you get to see a cat with this expression.

For my second assignment, I chose the Favorite movie quote. I had to choose an image from a movie I like, and add the quote over the image. This image and quote is from the Disney movie, Wizards of Waverly Place. I used to love watching the show when it was still ongoing, and I still watch it on YouTube sometimes.

Oh we’re going, okay!

I chose this part of the movie, because it displays my expression when I’m not ready to step out of my comfort zone to do a certain task. Unfortunately, I need to learn more about putting captions over an image, so I placed the caption below the image on this one.

Previous CT101 Post #3: Reaction GIF

On the first day of class, I kept walking around on the fourth floor trying to find it.

The first day was very chill in my opinion, though I was very nervous. The first task was to create a GIf, and I was proud of myself that I was able to make one.

After creating a GIF or two, I really enjoyed looking back, and laughing at how funny they are, especially with a loop.

By the end of this semester, I would like to learn how to express myself, even if I don’t talk much. This class is a great way for me to relax and do work at the same time.

I would also like to learn animation, which I think is pretty cool.

My First Portrait

This portrait was done in junior year at my high school. Apart from learning how to use photoshop in my Commercial Arts class, many students in my class preferred drawing on paper with pencils, instead of drawing with the computer mouse. One of the drawing projects we did, was this self portrait. First, we took a picture of ourselves, from the shoulder up. We then used Photoshop to add a black and white filter to the colored picture. After drawing a grid on the printed picture, we had to make this grid proportional to the large paper, so we can pay attention to each detail. This also made it easier for us to create shadows, and make the drawing seem more realistic. I would say that i spent most of the time on the jacket, since it had a lot of lines, buttons, folds, and a zipper. Overall, we were working on the portraits for about one and a half weeks until the assignment’s deadline. Although, I wanted to add more, I learned that I need more practice in drawing faces.
